Community Service with Curry Dental Center
At Curry Dental Center, we believe that serving and giving back is vital to the well-being of the community. Dr. Curry feels very fortunate to have had the privilege to work for the local Williamsburg community since 2003.
She is especially concerned about the needs of under-served children. Dr. Curry understands the impact dental pain has on children’s ability to grow and learn. The following are some of the organizations and events Dr. Curry has participated with in the past:
Ephesus Baptist Church Community Outreach Program
Special Olympics– dental screening
Child Development Resources– past board member
Olde Towne Medical Center– former staff dentist and volunteer
Early Head Start Advisory Committee
Read Across America– guest reader
In addition, Dr. Curry frequently gives lectures to Williamsburg- James City County students on oral health and choosing a career field. For the past 8 years, Dr. Curry and her team have partnered with Colgate to provide free dental screenings to Williamsburg-James City County Head Start Students via the Bright Smiles Bright Futures Program. Students are seen on Colgate’s fully equipped dental van. They view a multi-media presentation on oral home care and healthy food choices. Students also receive free dental hygiene supplies. Dr. Curry and her team look forward to this event every year.
If you would like to invite Dr. Curry to speak to your organization or at an event, please call 757-220-3450.
